The summer before eighth grade was when everything changed for Cassie.
She was determined to make the summer of 1962 the best one yet. Life was simple during the summer. There was no school which meant no homework or getting up early to make it on time to the bus. The summer meant warm weather in the San Fernando Valley, time at the pool, and baseball with her friends. What she didn't know was that the summer of 1962 meant having to confront her feelings for one of her best friends, Benny Rodriguez.
