The summer before eighth grade was when everything changed for Cassie.

The summer meant warm weather in the San Fernando Valley, time at the pool, and baseball with her friends. What she didn't know was that the summer of 1962 meant having to confront her feelings for one of her best friends, Benny Rodriguez.
