Noah Brown is a goofy and childish boy who always seems to find himself in trouble alot. After getting suspended from school for calling a girl a "bad word", Noah gets sent to his grandfather's house for the rest of the day, the very last place he wants to be. Grandpa Joe is an author who practically never leaves his house. After hearing about Noah's suspension he decides to watch him for the rest of the day while his parents are at work. While there, Joe decides to teach Noah a life lesson by reading him one of his most famous books called "Life With Her". As they start reading and the story unfolds, Noah starts to notice that this isn't just another cheesy romantic love story, it's his grandfather's love story.

Noah moved to a new town just a few weeks before school starts back up again. He meets a few people on his bus and they end up best friends. One of them tells them about a party that they got invited to. They invite Noah and their other friend along. Noah gets sort of lost but finds his way to a corner.
