Arwen Rogers, once a teenager trying to make some cash through writing, now on the verge of becoming a published author, is a complicated person. Not so in the fact that she's too emotional, or has any psychological problems, family trauma, etc. More so in the fact that writing has given her a purpose, and in the process of creating her characters, she's always felt a certain connection to them, even the bad ones. So it's no surprise when one of her characters shows up at her house, begging her to rewrite their story, her life takes a turn for the worst.

(LOTR - Haldir Fic) Aisling Hughes has her life figure out. She has a great job working with her cousins in their family-run hotel business in New York. And her friends in the small town of Oklahoma where she was born. Sure life has dealt her some pretty hard blows, but she's always thought herself strong and capable, willing to do what was needed to help her family and friends. That was until a freak spring storm blows up, sending an unexpected (and rather large) tornado her way. When she wakes up, Aisling finds herself in a land she doesn't recognize, surrounded by people and creatures that shouldn't exist on the cusp of a war that she'll never survive, even with all her 21st century knowledge. Feeling completely out of her element, Aisling must rely on the help of the ever serious and stoic Haldir, and the cryptic advice of Lady Galadriel, as they search for a wizard who can supposedly send her back home (or help her wake up - she's still not sure if this is all real). And then learns that perhaps it wasn't a journey to find her way home, but to find herself... and perhaps fall in love along the way...
