I'm aroace. I like romance novels. As you can imagine, there isn't much representation for that in such a genre, so I created my own. This is the story of Katie (our aroace queen) as she finds a person she actually wants to spend forever with. There aren't enough stories that show the love that can be given even when aromantic. However this is also the story of Jordan, and you will hear from both characters throughout the story. In the original document, the speaker is denoted by different colored text. Here, bold = Jordan, and not bold = Katie. I have 125 pages written so far, and I decided to share it because young me would have benefited from reading something like this. Some of the stuff we will tackle: depression from being in the Navy, discovering sexuality and the very real feelings that come with that, gender stuff, long-distance struggles, QPRs, the struggles of intimacy when asexual... etc. If there is a tag that you don't think belongs, it is because it hasn't come up in the story yet. The Girls with the Flame Tattoos
In this society, everyone has a soulmate. And the way to find yours is just look. Along with a soulmate, everyone has a small tattoo on their cheek with a symbol. Some could be a star, a flower, a yinyang, a fish, or even waves. There are so many people that the symbols are almost limitless. The tattoos don't care about gender or number. There could be gay matches, and there could even be polyamorous matches. The tattoos will tingle when you are near to your sm. And they will glow if you have found only one of your sm's if your match was poly. The trick is, you don't get the tattoo until you are 16. And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. The main characters of this story, Violet West (18) and Harper Black (20), both have a flame tattoo on their cheek. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away. For 2 years Violet also paniced but she knew that some people don't find their sm for 5-10 years after they come of age, so she wasn't as scared as Harper.
