Emma Swan is 17, she has been moved place to place in foster care. She has been through the good, and the bad, the happy, the sad. When she gets adopted by a sweet couple she has high hopes. New house, new school, and especially new teachers. All of the other places Emma has moved to are all not-so-good this time it's different. Especially after she meets her science/art teacher Ms. Mills.

Regina Mills is a 30-year old science and art teacher at Attaway High School. She has a 4-year old son named Henry, and he is her true love <Or so she thought>. Regina loves teaching she loves to see the students be scared of her, but most of all she loves to see them work hard. Last year was not the best year but she hopes this year will be better. Regina is has a hard shell and is very strict, and the only person that can break that is her 4-year old son. Not untill she meets this one student Emma Swan.

Regina has walls build around her heart, to protect herself from heartbreak and pain, which causes her to miss out on the things that doesn't cause pain, but has the potential to, like love and friendships. She has one friend, Kathryn, who's also a teacher. Regina's father died when she was young, and her mother is a cold-hearted woman. Regina knows that her mother only wants what's best for her, but her own idea of what's best isn't the same as her mother's. They don't have much contact anymore. Despite all, Regina has a big heart and feels things deeply. She wants to help her students the best she can. Emma Swan: 17 years old. About to start her senior year in high school. She was adopted by Mary Margaret Blanchard and David Nolan when she was 14. They started fostering her when she was 13. Before that, Emma was always bouncing from bad foster homes to group homes.
