She stared at me, hurt and rage burning so clear in her eyes, as if her eyes were about light up in flames themselves. "I'm NOT a monster," she whispered softly, meeting my gaze. "I'm-I'm a protector." She looked at her brother, who was staring at us with huge, frightful eyes. "I'm HIS protector. And nothing will stop me from protecting him."
Koa is a young 14 year old boy and still learning the ropes of his life. Unexpectedly, his life is put on pause when he and his friend Annalise are kidnapped by a mysterious girl with strange powers and a little brother with antlers.
Koa and Annalise are kept as prisoners in a hidden cave deep within the forest. Having no idea where they are, and the fact that they might get blasted to death leaves them with no option but to stay put.
Soon, Koa and Annalise realize just what type of deadly situation they're in, and just what type of deadly siblings they're dealing with. That's when they realize they may as well be doomed.
