Of Men and Beasts
This is a folktale concept that came to me many years back, but it was only recently that I found myself able to shape it into the kind of story that I wanted. It's a bit longer and more detailed than my other short stories, about twice as long actually, which is why I've split it into two parts. Just to provide some context, it is meant to take place in a medieval, Germanic setting, shortly before the Protestant Reformation when religious fervor was at an all-time high. The Big Bad Wolf
She was a human, clueless to the supernatural world. She worked helping troubled youth, and loved helping people. She had chronic illnesses, and was constantly at doctor's appointments. She loved reading cliche werewolf stories on her phone. He was an Alpha oblivious to her existence. He was 30, and had assigned his Beta's son to take over when he retired. He never found his mate, and him and his wolf accepted this, and took the role as both Alpha and Luna. Another Alpha was kidnapping humans and trying to turn them. He wanted more pack slaves/pets, and since turned humans were weaker, he could control them easier. He had is eyes set on her. "Ho-how is this possible? You can't be this!" He stuttered as he stared at her freshly turned wolf. She growled in response. "Doesn't matter, I'll break both of you."
