This is a short story about a young man and an incident he (somewhat) overcomes. This is a werewolf story, yes, but not a cliche-d one I hope, as it includes much more unhappiness and gore and such. There is no swearing, no nasty in-bed stuff, but there is gore. I mean, animal-mauling-blood-everywhere gore. Sorry, but in a werewolf reality, it would be rather dark and disturbing. If you do not like those things, please do not read for your own sake. Other than that, mild humor included. No idea if I'm going to write another story with the same sort of people or not, so I will get back to you later about that. Anyways, have fun and good luck. All characters' names and characteristics and fiction, I did not take them directly off somebody, so in cases of coincidence where you or someone you know looks like a character, my apologies, but I swear I didn't look up people and write their description. I was a human girl looking for a safe place from the supernatural creatures that had invaded our world. I never expected to be a mate to a powerful werewolf alpha. I never wanted to be a mate to some supernatural creature, I wanted to be free to live a normal life without all the chaos in the world. What will happen when he finally finds his mate? Will she except him for who he is or will she reject him? Read to find out. • • • This is an edited version of the book titled 'The Mate I Never Wanted'. I kept the title of the book the same but I changed the names of the characters and a bit of the book itself.

He went to take my hands into his but I turned away from him. Tears were still going down my face. How could he, after all this time, have the nerve to come here. He knew that he had hurt me. Now he is sorry and wants me back? No. "Please. Believe me. I messed up big time! I didn't know what I had until it was gone!" He said. I heard every word. They cut through the wall of my heart and placed themselves on it . It hurt. But what he did to me had hurt even more. "That's right. You screwed up. Consider me lost." I said. Then I walked away.

I was being given away to alpha's of another pack i look up to see who i was being given to. As soon as i look up at them ,they growl and grab me 'MATES' my wolf yells at me 'Oh.... WAIT DID YOU JUST SAY MATES'

This is a folktale concept that came to me many years back, but it was only recently that I found myself able to shape it into the kind of story that I wanted. It's a bit longer and more detailed than my other short stories, about twice as long actually, which is why I've split it into two parts. Just to provide some context, it is meant to take place in a medieval, Germanic setting, shortly before the Protestant Reformation when religious fervor was at an all-time high. I really hope you all enjoy this as it took quite a lot of work to finally write down. Feedback welcomed and encouraged as always!
