"This street shit ain't no joke, calling it "fast life" is an understatement. One day you up, next day you scraping for change. My problem was I been playing this game the wrong way, one foot in one foot out at all times. It wasn't a time before this, that I wasn't trying to find a way out this shit. My brother Mac once told me "this the devil's game, ain't no being halfway in this shit, you gotta sell yo soul to the streets." I finally understand what he mean, you gone do alotta shit you don't wanna do but that just what come with the game. Instead of one foot in and one foot out. I gotta be standing ten toes down for whatever come with this shit."

**book one** Keep to yourself. That was the first rule to surviving a life on the streets. Don't concern yourself with any one but yourself, mind your own business. If you want to survive you take care of yourself. You can't rely on anyone even if they seemed to be your friend. It was how the the street life worked. It's how you survive. What happens when a street kid decides to put someone else first? When the first and most important rule is broken? And what if the person saved is a stranger? Things go terribly wrong when you start to care. Old forgotten enemies from the past come back to hunt and new enemies start to form. Can anyone be trusted?
