This is a prequel to the Inheritance Cycle. This is how the first Dragon Riders came to be and how they change to help Alagaesia from those who wish to harm it. Once the truce between dragons and elves is made the dragons gave the elves three eggs, once they hatched the new riders must train to become the heroes and protectors Eragon (the original one not Eragon Brom's son) expects them to be, but then the new queen Dellanir forbids dragon riders to enter the elves' forests, making it a little more difficult. Afterwards Eragon appoints the Rider's new leader and leaves with another rider to explore other lands beyond the Edda River.

Eragon was once an orphan who lived on a farm, didn't know who his father was, and had never stepped foot outside of Palancar Valley. But when a blue stone appeared before him in the Spine, hatching a baby dragon, everything changed. Now, he is known as Eragon Shadeslayer, son of Brom and one of the last remaining Riders. He and his dragon, Saphira Bjartskular, have journeyed across the Empire: facing countless foes, winning many battles, and beating impossible odds. They know they are the ONLY ones who can free Alagaësia from the tyrannical King Galbatorix's rule - or are they? When a mysterious girl named Niaomi arrives at the Varden, she brings with her new hope, but also new dangers. For though she and her allies have great powers, Galbatorix will stop at nothing to capture them. And when the third dragon egg hatches, will the newcomers' history hold the key to freedom for the enslaved "Shur'tugalar"? In the first volume of an epic tale, the Riders will be forced to confront spies, thwart assassination attempts, and uncover their pasts. But even though the Varden's skill grows, the coming battle will require all of their strength. For the black king still possesses an unmatched power that even the gods would be hard-pressed to defeat. *see A/N for the full book's trailer* [COMPLETED: readable though in editing] - Chapter Status: last edited 12/3/15 • Edited: #1-#7 • In Progress: - • Unedited: #8-#10 "Destiny (Volume II: Indlvarn)" has been posted and is currently in progress. ~~~~~ Posted: Aug. 12, 2012 ~ All characters, settings, and events referenced from the Inheritance Cycle in "Destiny" and all other related works are owned by Christopher Paolini. Dragon Riders: Legacy(Book 2) Completed by Zoeymk2018
43 parts Complete
Ermine is the eldest son of Chief Tonraq and Chieftess Senna, and older brother to Sokka and Korra. And is to be future chief of his village in Arctica. He always longed for freedom from his duties. He wished he could escape like his older cousins, Korren and Kya, who three years ago bonded with dragons and became the most powerful beings in Erdas, except for the Great Beasts themselves. And then left to begin their training on the mysterious island base of the Dragon Riders. He however, gets his wish, but will his father, who is one not to let go, let him go to begin his training with his cousins? Moray and his parents are loyal subjects to the king and queen of The Hundred Isles. When he hears rumors that the Riders are returning, and he accidentally finds a dragon egg, and it hatches. Where will he decides his loyalty belongs: to his family and people or to the Riders and Erdas? Toph Beifong is the only daughter of of Lao and Poppy Beifong, one of the wealthiest families in Xia Kao Dai, the capital city of Zhong. Her parents always sheltered her too much that no one even knew she existed because they believed her to be too frail and defenseless because she was born blind. When Toph runs away one day and comes face to face with a legendary beast, thought to be extinct, will it kill her or save her from her current life? This is a fanfic of Wings of Fire, Spirit Animals, and the Inheritance Cycle. I used Toph because I just really like her character and life and love how she went from the quiet, frail girl to the strong independent person she becomes in Avatar the Last Airbender. Again I used magic from Harry Potter. I used names from ATLA because I like their names , but their personalities and appearances are not the same, except for Toph.
