The Vanks

Vanks. Some would say the small town located in the deepest part of California was home to the evil. Where the darkest people settled into the cracks; only coming out onto the streets when the moon touches the dark sky.

Vanks was like the ugly duckling in the state of Cali, but somehow, in Noah's eyes, Rye made it into a beautiful gold swan. Her colors filled up the black and white streets of Vanks immediately when she visited her Auntie Sammie for the summer.

Now, here she is again, in the flesh, on a hot October day, to stay permanently. Noah and Rye hadn't spoken since she left 3 months ago, and although he was furious with her for disappearing without saying a goodbye, he had to admit that he missed that curly haired girl with the big white smile. His pride was way to big to say it to her, and his stubborn ways may be the biggest obstacle in their friendship.

Struggling with the darkness of Vanks, Noah will need a little light like Rye to brighten him up. Especially after the death of his uncle. But Noah had so much anger built up in his heart against Rye-only because partial of his anger was marinating in his sadness of missing her wholeheartedly- it seemed like he would never find the courage to talk to her.

Will the two fix their bond? Or will Noah's stubborn ways get in the way of his only real friend?
