Every 25 years there is a "Quarter Quell", which switches up the rules of the Hunger Games. This year, two tributes of the same gender are picked at the reaping. Two drawings are done, first for male or female, second for the two tributes. And so twenty-four citizens of the districts finds themselves in the Arena to fight to the death.
