Blake Benson, an orphan, after falling into a mysterious slumber, finds himself entrapped in a world where flames, dewdrops, and murky shadows attack one another, as if stricken by the hostility of yore.

Blake doesn't see it, but he's one of them, too. But only when he is forced into a position he can't escape from will he see this and finally find two things he's been looking for all his life.
