I've decided to jump into the latest smackdown hosted by LayethTheSmackDown and Ooorah. This is where I'll be posting my entries. It's been fun and challenging doing these in the past and it's good motivation to churn out some stories. I haven't managed to win one yet, but in a way that's beside the point. Welcome to Undiscovered Gems Competition (UGC)! I love to help writers get a second hand view of their work. I feel that there is so much published work on Wattpad that deserves to be acknowledged but people a) Don't have the time b) Don't read new books with low reads or c) Can't find them. I've read so many undiscovered books here and I usually comment on how to improve and what is done well. I know that new stories may not be continued or people may not have confidence in themselves and sometimes I feel my comments go unnoticed. Therefore, I would have made a competition where undiscovered writers get a chance to be acknowledged through 'The Undiscovered Gems Competition' and get some feedback that they, themselves, are looking for. SmackDown: Back to Our Roots
Our previous two SmackDowns were both massive successes, and it's high time for another. You might remember the last one was heavy on the "game" elements, maybe even too heavy. This time we're going back to the basics and keeping it simple. It's just a motherfuckin' sci-fi SmackDown: a heated writing contest where contestants are given text-, music- and visual-based prompts, and then they need to write a short story around that, following which they're judged for their efforts and either move on to the next round or they get eliminated from the competition. But there's gotta be some kind of twist, right? For this one we're waxing nostalgic, we're looking back into our past. We're going back to our roots.Complete
