The large window, holding all the unreachable stars and galaxies and places and people, reflected the harsh outline of two people captured in a sliver of escaping light. Outside, a man cleaned a pool of blood as two others carried the heavy, unconscious body of an enemy to safety. In another room, more argued and yelled about the alien- the insanity of it all! A few silently watched, deep in thought. How had humanity come to this? But she wasn't human. Her skin glittered, her eyes held an odd sheen, and a sort of aura hung heavy in the air surrounding her. From a distance she was exotic; up close she was otherworldly. Come from the stars and the soil, she was the key. ~*****~ Blessed with the powers of an ancient alien race. Daughter of the late leader of the rebellion. Ensured with the destiny of billions of lives. Cursed to provide entertainment for the powerful. Mother of the child she was forced to conceive for the greater good. Destined to dismantle and decimate. Oriehn

He kneaded his lips together. "You are not a warden," He croaked. At hearing his voice, raspy from underuse, I stilled but nevertheless nodded. He visibly gulped, as if the air was choking him, "But you are not human either." ********** Alice Proctor's world is dictated by two vital aspects- survival and revenge. A linguist for Earth's insurgence, and the one of the last survivors of an invading imperialist force, she has dedicated her life to ridding earth of a far superior race known as the Oriehns. When she is taken by a rogue test subject with ulterior motives in mind, Alice aids the rebel force the only way she can- accepting the alleged foreign ancestry forced upon her to gather crucial intel while aboard the Oriehn Lunar Station. But just as Alice thinks she knows what she wants, a month living amongst the welcoming culture of the Oriehns and an impending siege on the mothership has a way of twisting her opinions. ********** ********** © 2017 AaPThomps all rights reserved.
