Seven years after Ash Ketchum started his Pokémon journey he found himself in Alola taking part in a competition alongside many of his friends. All grown up, the friends reminisce on old memories while diving full force into new ones. However Ash never expected the changes that would occur. He didn't expect May and Drew to be traveling together, he didn't realize that Serena and Clement formed a tight bond, he was surprised that his cold hearted rival, Paul, would open up to his bluenette friend. Finally he couldn't have predicted he'd meet the proud water Pokemon trainer Adrian Bourne either. Just what the heck did Adrian want with Misty?!

Upon losing the Kalos league Ash returns home to find a site he didn't expect, most of his prior traveling companions betraying him. With his girlfriend Serena and his Pokemon by his side and knowing his mother still believes in him, he leaves to the Aloha region. Five years later the world champ decides he's ready to retire and a tournament is being held in the Aloha region to decide the new world champion. Ash, now the Aloha champion, will compete to become the next world champion, as well as get some payback against those who betrayed him, and those who made his mother suffer just to get to him. What would have happened to Serena and Ash if Serena hadn't watched the News on the day Ash saved Garchomp? After travelling though Kalos without encountering Serena even once and finishing his journey in Alola as the newly crowned Champion, Ash returns to Kanto only to find that he will be attending school in Kalos. The Kalos Institute of Technology. Most of the young and rising Pokemon trainers have been invited to this academy. It is a 4 year course but Ash will be joining in Year 2 as his travelling experiences have already compensated for Year 1.
