I am a lighthouse, worn by the weather and the waves.
I keep my lamp lit to warn the sailors on their way.
I'll tell a story, paint you a picture from my past.
I was so happy, but joy in this life seldom lasts.
This story is based off of the song "The Lighthouse's Tale" by Nickel Creek. You can listen to the song, but I suggest that you wait until after, otherwise the entire story will be ruined...
I just wanted to try this out, because I was ready to bawl when I heard that song, and it's such a good song too!
So here's my version of the song, from the point of view of The Lighthouse's Keeper.
