The story unfolds around three main characters: Anika, Siddarth, and Pooja, intertwined in a web of family dynamics and relationships. Anika stood there, feeling the sting of her aunt Nandani's words. "Tumhari aukat hi kya hai, pehle tumhari woh behen, aur ab tum," she scoffed dismissively, her tone laced with condescension. Anika felt a mix of anger and hurt, but before she could respond, her sister-in-law Pooja stepped in. "Anika bhabi, Siddarth, chup hone ka naam nahi le raha. Aap chale mere saath," Pooja insisted, her voice filled with determination as she sought to rescue her favorite sister-in-law from the biting remarks. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation, especially with the wedding preparations underway. Anika's mother-in-law called out, "Aaj shaadi ke kaam hain, Anika. Tum Siddarth ko Ridhi ko de do, woh usko Akash ke saath sambhal legi." Her words carried the weight of expectation. "Ji maa," Anika replied dutifully, though her heart was heavy with the pressure of the day's events. She turned to Ridhi, her sister-in-law, and spoke softly, "Sorry yaar Ridhi." Anika handed over her son, a small bundle of energy, to her with a hint of reluctance. Ridhi smiled reassuringly, "Koi nahi bhabi, aap tension mat lo. Ye dono best friend khel lenge." Her cheerful demeanor helped ease Anika's worries, offering a glimmer of comfort amid the chaos of preparations. Dive in to discover more about their lives as they navigate through familial obligations, friendships, and the challenges brought forth by the impending celebration.

Mairsinn had served as the commander of the Taghadairean for longer than she cared to remember, part of the sisterhood responsible for protecting the halls of the gods and training with the battle-slain who dwelled in Tallamarbh. She also decided which candidates passed the trials or died attempting to gain recognition as Comhairle warriors. She wasn't sure how many bhampairean she'd killed because they chose to step into the Proving Grounds, underprepared. She only knew that she was weary of it, and sometimes she needed to escape. Unfortunately, chasing an illicit, temporary release from her duties left her vulnerable, and at least one bhampair had a bone to pick with her. When a ghaisgeach attacks her, knocking her out and dragging her to a grim dungeon where several bhampairean are being held, Mairsinn needs to figure out what her captors want from their prisoners. What connects the captives? Will her jailers want to keep her or sell her to the highest bidder? Can she find a way to escape? And if she does, will her place as commander still wait for her? Meanwhile, Aodh, second-in-command of the Comhairle-Chlaidheamhan, had been tasked with persuading an unwilling noble to help the Council with legal matters. That wasn't work for a warrior, but leaving the task to Corvinus seemed... risky. Nonetheless, when Aodh's gift as a seer revealed that one of the Taghadairean had been abducted by someone wielding a Comhairle sword, his focus needed to shift. Making nice with a noble no longer seemed so important, not when the woman responsible for protecting the gods and assessing new ghaisgich had been abducted; stolen away from a supernatural establishment trading in angel blood, a place she should've had no reason to be. Worse, the visions of her just keep coming, making his gift even more intrusive than it had been before. But why? There was no love lost between him and the commander, yet he couldn't get her black eyes out of his mind. He needed to find her.

[A/N]: Hey guys! Before I post this story, I was going to give a little insight. A very good friend of mine and I decided to write this book, and what better way to recieve constructive critcism than to share with everyone here on wattpad? I'm proud to say that we're nearly finished with it, around three to five more chapters need to be written. However, I will gladly post two chapters a week. Depending on the length, I could possibly split each chapter in two. Enjoy! -Skye & Jasmine My attempts to sleep failed miserably as realization hit me. Tonight was my last night unattached to someone. I swung my legs to one side of the bed. My bare feet brushed the cold floor and sent shivers up my spine. Scotland is much warmer this time of year. I took a few steps toward the window, but before I got too far I heard chatter just outside my door. "She’ll never be happy with him." The first voice, a female, was barely audible. "She could be. She’s just upset about Benjamin." A second voice, a man, replied to the woman. "She’ll never love Derick." A hint of anger played beneath the surface of the woman’s voice. I lay back down after that, so much for Emma accepting our marriage. Unhappiness coursed through my body and I became furious. I’d never love Emma either; with that I went to sleep. I dreamt of my mother singing in the castle, her voice was loud and demanding. Her words flowed so freely from her mouth and danced playfully down the halls. She was in the throne room singing to my father just as she always did. Her song was about the way she learned to love my father. Most marriages in Scotland are arranged, and due to our beliefs they have to work out. My mother had always been so madly in love with my father, but he was hesitant because he had to leave the woman he loved so dearly. So he let her go…
