17-year-old Alia Beckons has moved from town to town ever since she could remember, following a paranoid mother and wondering about the father she never had. Even though her life seemed to be falling apart at the seems it wasn't until she reached a quaint little town that didn't seem to be on the map that she realized the curtains were about to rip at the seems. Secrets hide behind every fake smile and dark shadows lay deep around every corner Alia dares to venture around. Something is wrong about what's going in this town, and no one wants to give her the clear answers she is so desperate for. But what happens when she goes looking for answers and finds the unforgiving truth which might just lead to an ultimate sentence. Death.

This book has sexual reference and mentions of things that could possibly be triggering to some - e.g. young motherhood and loss of a parent. This work is usually split into two parts, but I have decided to take down the second part, and consider the first part, one book for now, so I can work on the second. When the second part/book has been finished, I'll decide whether I like it as one book or to reincorporate the rest of the book to make it one. Entered in the Wattys(2020)!
