It was a winter night. Kristoff and Andre were positioned at the farthest border of the Empire. What came their way was unexpected. This is my very first story and my very first attempt in writing. This story follows the lives of two soldiers, Kristoff and Andre, and how they deal with the ironies of life in wartime.

The year is 1917, and the Great War is slowly drawing to a close, but the end can't come fast enough for the two nations from the Southern Hemisphere, exhausted and ready to go home and to try to resume a normal life. Kyle knows he's close to breaking. Even hearing the name of that cursed place aloud causes him pain, and he knows Avery feels the same. Then comes that stupid smiling American, with his talk of heroes and aide. And Kyle can't help but start to feel differently about Alfred. But developing such feelings in the middle of war can be a dangerous thing.
