Samantha Michales is your typical person. She loves to write and read books but most of all she loves to play volleyball. When Holly was 14 she was thinking about suicide and wanted help. She called a hotline and managed to get out of her depression.  Now as a sophomore in high school she is now a teen volunteer for a local community suicide hotline. 

Peyton King is a Senior at Trueman Highschool. He made varsity football as a quarterback his freshman year. He's 6'1 with dusty blonde hair and dark green eyes. He as all the girls swooning and he knows it. He's cocky and rich. He's the perfect kid, with perfect parents and perfect grades. What people don't know is that Peyton has an abusive father and a mother who is drunk 99% of the time. Not only that but he's pressured into playing football and not taking a career in medicine like he wants.

What will happen when Peyton calls the hotline and Samantha picks up. Is that all their relationship is, or will they ever be more than two people behind a phone?
