"What did I tell you, Aster?" Jax whispered into the air between them, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, his gaze flickering to her mouth. "Never trust a faery." - Faeries were never known to be subtle. An arrow through a tender throat, a dagger in the heart. It was all a game to them, a hobby. Fae hunted their prey; the ones that hid from them. The humans. So Aster hid, much like the others. With hate, not fear, lodged deep within her heart, just waiting to be released. She allowed herself to be told the stories of the Fae: of their poison-tipped arrows, their sharpened teeth. But when her sister, the only light in her sea of dark, is taken by the Fae, Aster sets off to track the fearsome predators herself, to make them pay for what they did or to die trying. Because a life without her, isn't much of a life at all. But what Aster is faced with is something she is completely and utterly unprepared for. Yes, the Fae are everything that Aster had ever thought they'd be: brutal, deadly. But they are also everything else. Kind. Whimsical. Beautiful. And Aster can hardly help herself from being caught up in it all, from being caught up in one in particular. And it's so wrong, so horribly wrong. But Aster doesn't care. - It's hunting season. Don't get caught.

We've all heard the tales of good and bad, the tales of innocent deceit and her hero, the tales that despite their nature, show us the beauty in contrast. But it's the tales of pure evil that get swept under the rug. The tales of deception, where cruelty is rewarded. The tales that have you questioning who the real villain of the story is. There's a simple philosophy to most thing in life; two wrongs 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 make a right. So what ensues when you put two of the worst kinds of people together?
