The Effect of a Broken Heart

Duchess Helena Halcom has had a lot of heartbreak within the last few years. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she found out on her wedding day that her fiancee had been cheating on her for years with her maid of honor, but despite all of this Helena has found a way to persevere. She is now the youngest editor and chief of The Guardian, and her life seems to be looking up that is until she gets a call from her father that her mother has passed suddenly. She is now returning home for the first time since her failed marriage. Although she has failed she still wishes that one day she might find someone who will love her for everything she is.

Duke Othello Halcom has been running away from his future for as long as he can remember. Since he was only ever seen as a pretty rich boy who would inherit the title of Lord Halcom he joined the Royal Air Force, but when he has to return home for his mother's funeral he is sure his father will finally make him resign his position as a pilot, and take over the title. He is desperate for anyone else that can take the title. In his search, he drags his twin sister Helena into the search, and what they discover shakes them both to the core.
