36 year old Riyeko "Jinx" Ito is one of the most dangerous patients from a mental institution in the Land of Lighting. She suffers from the deficiency known as hypopituitarism, which made her unable to grow and is forever cursed with her child-like body.

Before successfully escaping the institution, Riyeko burns it to the ground and flees the Land of Lightning with all documents that led to her true identity. After permanently discarding the documents, she travels through the five great nations posing as a 13 year old girl named Maemi Aso.
