As Aaeryn Hyrda, a night fey, tries her best to fit into this fantasy world, she comes across an Allencon boy who is disregarded because his dad cut off his wings. She is new to Northlin View, and has trouble making friends with other fey, such as Rentors with their pointed ears and Allencons with their bat wings. She has a voice in her head, which she has been talking to since forever. The voice knows one of her deepest secrets, that no one can know about. But can she trust the voice with a secret that could cost her life?
