Once upon a time, Mortals and Immortals lived together in peace. 

But, like every story ever written, all good things must come to an end. Let's just say this one didn't end with a "happily ever after." 

For hundreds of years, the Immortal War has raged. The Mortals, all of Earth's creatures, against the Immortals, every creature on the other side of the Gate. Dragons, the leaders of the Immortals, against humans, the leaders of the Mortals. The war is at a stand still. No side has a clear advantage over the other. Emerald James is nobody special.
