Hazel Grace Lancaster - a sixteen year old girl who has thyroid cancer in her lungs - was desperately grieving for his boyfriend, Augustus Waters, who died. She discovers that she wasn't quite the same; she seems to become worse than before. Her sickness was getting worse, too.
