I know what you're thinking: "How To Win At Life" - that's grammatically incorrect. (Unless you're talking about the game of life. I always win that.) But don't worry, that was my first thought too when I picked it up in the shop. 

I had a negative view on the book that W.H.Smiths was advertising before I even opened it. The blurb didn't help:

"This is all you need to win at life. Follow these simple rules and your life will never be the same again. Your essential guide to beauty, family, friends and boys."

Here are my reasons for doubting the book:

1. Never trust a book with an incorrect title. 

2. If there was a guidebook for life - I would know.

3. The generic "you" that is used must not include people who accidentally take their shirt off with their jumper in class. 

4. They obviously haven't met me
