In the world of the Bible, nearly everyone is born with unique powers. This world was abandoned by its creator, known only as The Author, leaving humanity to govern itself.
The Game of Divines is a brutal contest held once every century. Twelve districts compete, but only one contestant will survive and ascend to godhood, claiming the power to reshape the world.
Judah comes from District Twelve, the most feared and cruel of all. Known as the Judas District, it's a place where power is gained through manipulation and bloodshed. Despite this, Judah never wanted to be a god-he only desired enough power to protect himself. But after a tragic accident, he is unexpectedly chosen as a God Candidate, forced to enter the deadly Game of Divines.
