The Sins of Seven

"Devi," my uncle Zach called to me. I turned my head from the photo that hung on the wall and offered him a small smile. He had a familiar look on his aged but handsome face.

"I'm fine Uncle Zach." I assure him with a nod. He smiles back and turns, walking back into the massive kitchen.

I take another small glance at the photo and feel tears start burning the backs of my eyes. I quickly pick up my suitcase from the marbled floor and walk down the hall to my designated room.

Once I'm safely tucked into my room with the door tightly closed, the tears start flowing.
