On the outside, Jimin has everything anyone could want: he's part of widely popular and beloved boy group BTS, is talented in many fields, has released hit songs that have sold millions and has looks and talent that has many female fans cheering him on, screaming his name and calling him their angel, their oppa.
But all is not what it seems on the inside; because Jimin is struggling with a darkness that nags at him daily--a darkness that's fueled by low self esteem, insecurity, anxiety and depression, and the obsessive need to be perfect and the fear of being anything but, bought on and exacerbated by the pressures of fame, being in the spotlight and expectations from fans, critics and managers equally to fulfill obligations expected of a Kpop idol, and which actually followed Jimin from childhood. All of this manifests into a long, harrowing battle with anorexia, body image issues and body dysmorphia that seems like a never-ending uphill battle that won't be resolved, and soon enough this secret becomes an open concern for the rest of Jimin's bandmates/friends. Can they help save Jimin from himself? And can Jimin find the strength to conquer his demons and love himself?
(*TRIGGER WARNING: Extensive discussion and examples of anorexia/bulimia, low self esteem, anxiety, depression, self hatred, self harm and even suicidal thoughts and feelings. Can be triggering to anyone that's experienced all this.)
