“Solo,” She growled through clenched teeth. She stood across from the able, arms crossed; face showing irritation. “You know you can’t do this, right?” The boy leaning back on the rotting chair rolled his eyes, “Yeah yeah, I know Mom.” “Hey!” She shouted, causing the tall man in front of me to jump slightly. “Listen Solo! You cannot do something like this for the sake of-” “For the sake of myself, Alby, Kattarina, and you Reinah.” He interjected. “Jesus Christ Reinah,” “Alright.” Alby snarled, “Put the claws away.” Alby stood up, placing a hand on the flustered girl steaming to the left of me. Reinah sat down besides me obviously still irritated, “We all need to calm down.” His voice was velvety and soothing, cutting the tension between the feuding friends like butter. “We shouldn’t fight like this okay? Solo, you know that something like this is dangerous, and under no circumstances should a situation like his be carried through. You got that?” The two friends fought as if they were siblings bickering over a new shiny toy; and Alby was the single Mother who solved the problem in a synch. He was like a parent to us almost, Or least, what we imagined parents were like. Solo groaned, but loosen his tensed shoulders, “Fine.” “Now apologize,” Alby sat back down in his chair, watching the two. “I’m sorry.” They say in unison. I look to Alby and mouth a “Thank-you.” Which he replies with a solemn nod and a weak half-grin. Alby, Reina, Robert, and Kattarina; teenagers borderlining the equator of unordinary, and extraordinary lives. When there extraneous beings collide with the tides of our regular sea; What could possibly be the outcome? And whos to stop it if it’s cataclysmic?

Aerion curled into Damien, clinging like something broken. Damien stroked his hair in silence, gentle, aching. "Aerion?" he whispered. Aerion pressed closer, unwilling to let go. "You have to leave." "Why?" came the muffled reply. "I want to stay. With you." "It's not right," Damien said. "To want the one who hurt you. To bleed for the hand that broke you." "And is it right to let go of the only thing you've ever known?" Aerion's voice trembled. "You hurt me. I know. But it doesn't matter." Damien's voice turned low. "Because I've been your whole world for a while-your joy, your ruin. I broke you. And still, you cling to me. Not out of love, but because pain feels familiar." Damien paused. "I once felt that for you." Aerion looked up, desperate. "Then how did you let go?" Damien met his eyes. "I didn't," he said. "You left." ---------- Aerion and Damien had wounded each other beyond repair-but neither ever truly let go. Millennia ago, Aerion betrayed Damien, and died for it. Now, in another life, they meet again. Damien saves a boy from being sacrificed to a god-not out of mercy, but bloodlust. He didn't know the boy was Aerion reborn. Not at first. But once he saw it-once he knew-his cruelty sharpened. Damien never speaks of the betrayal. He doesn't need to. His silence is thick with rage... and something else. That old, cursed fondness, crawling back in. Aerion, unaware of who he once was, cowers before the titan. But still, he slowly found himself drawn to him. Because in this life, Damien-cruel, cold and brutal-was the kindest one he'd ever known. -----------
