Five years after Charlotte's arrest, the liars are lured back into Rosewood after Charlotte is released from the state hospital and mysteriously disappears... With Alison (in her junior year) and Mona (in her senior year) attending Hollis College, all has not been well in the absence of the four liars as it seems that someone has been continuing to pull strings in their absence. The girls are older and smarter, but one truth remains: someone among them is a traitor, and they never quite learned how to win their own game. With everyone in new relationships and secrets being revealed about each girl's significant other, the strength of their friendships come into question as time goes on and Ali and Mona become acquainted with new friends Ava, Caitlin, Julie, Mackenzie and Parker. With the formerly tight popular group of friends continuing to grow apart, the girls face off against their deadliest foe yet when the ultimate puppet master makes their intentions clear... The only problem is, one of their own is in cahoots with them, and as they set in motion their master plan's final act, not everyone will come out alive and unscathed.
