But that is a whole different story. So, Katness, Elizabeth, and Prim are all living in district 12, in Victors Villege. Elizabeth never got to meet her grandmother, she was killed. Katness taught Elizabeth EVERYTHING she knows about how to survive in the games. Because it was just a matter before time, that Elizabeth herself would be a tribute in the games. Oh, yes, that time is now.
Elizabeth doesn't have the past one would expect, she has the scars all over to show it. A childhood friend, Alex Vicari was chosen for the male tribute. They always had a past together, he was her friend as a child and always was there for her. Now it is time for their relationship to grow as they get older and take the journey of being district twelves tributes to the games.
Elizabeth has to realize that she has her protector that will be there as secrets are reveled and her fate questioned.
