So the moral is you can run but you can't hide.
With a town seemingly turned against her and a family with no control over her out of control moods, Jewel sees no other way of lightening the load that to move in with her aunt in a new city with new people with no idea about her past.
Unfortunately, just because you want to hide things, doesn't necessarily mean that no one will eventually be able to pry the truth from you.
Sometimes it's just impossible to leave things behind if it's something that constantly keeps you up at night... especially when the quilt sets in.
