Lila Brandy's love for books is quite evident even to the most naive eyes. From her themed outfit everyday, the endless brochures of book discounts on her night stand, to the Harry Potter Wand-shaped pepper spray she keeps in her bag. She's read about fictional people, witches, vampires, centaurs, and werewolves.
Along with her love for books comes a bestfriend whose naive-ty is impeccable.
So when-in one of their book shopping sessions- they were kidnapped by weirdly muscled guys, they make a bet of what creatures their kidnappers are.

"I am a werewolf. So is Cade and Livy and Ross, and well, everybody in this territory." I tell her, trying to hold my voice steady. I can hear my heart beat in relief and anxiety. Relief because I have finally told her the truth of what we are, and anxiety because I haven't the slightest idea on how she would react.
"Oh, yeah! You owe me a new book and two pints of ice cream!" She sang in victory, doing a fist pump in the air and dance move i've never seen before.
Wait what.
"Oh, come on! Why can't you be vampires?" her bestfriend slouched in annoyance.
"They go outside even in the sun, silly. The heat of the sun burns vampires."
Still not catching up on what is going on, I open my mouth to say something. But my mate is already on her way upstairs with her bestfriend in tow.
"Did they just bet on what creatures we are?"
