They say wishing is just something we do specially on our birthdays, celebrations and even in 11:11. I never wished for something I like, need and want. All of those things were given to me unexpectedly. I never asked kasi kusa lang silang binibigay sakin. Pero ano nga bang feeling ng mag-wish? Will it really happen?

My younger brother and sister cry for our parents on the other side of the world. The only consolation I have is "Christmas is coming." My younger sister asked me how we could celebrate Christmas with nothing. I had no answer except, "We'll find a way." *** 2020 brought many unexpected things. The unexpected bad and the unexpected good. With the year coming to a close, I want to dedicate this story to the front-liners, to those living away from family, to the Filipinos affected by the recent typhoons and flood, and to my grandparents who have survived through so much and thrived through it all.
