One year has passed since the Revolution. Distrikt 13 was leveled to the ground and the Capitol has decided, to choose one young woman and one young man from the remaining Districts with a so called "Reaping" and lock them into an Arena, where they fight each other until only one of twenty-four remains. Erin Vesper, a seventeen year old girl is chosen alongside the even-aged Micheal Junes.
