Benjamin 'Ben' Kingston is the star basketball player, popular, and is the guy everyone looks up to. He has everything he ever wanted, with his dad being coach of the team and his mother being one of the school librarian. But one thing has kept him in place, the school cliques.
    
    Mallory 'Mal' Bertha Faerie is the new student at Auradon High. After she and her friends was expelled from her previous school for vandalism, this is the last school who would take her in, along with her friends, Jay Slyther, Evie Grimhilde, and Carlos Mason. If she doesn't clean up her act, she'll end up in the juvenile detention center. 
    
    In Auradon High School, everyone sticks to what they know. Everyone stays in their clique, from the nerds to the athletes. This bothered Ben. He wanted things to change, and somehow the school musical helped him and a certain someone do so.
