'Why is it always me? Everyone else has friends and boyfriends and girlfriends. Why is it always me that gets left alone?'

Ada Browne has tried to make friends all her life, but fails everytime, and is always left alone from everyone else. Refusing to seek help from the school counselor, she sinks into a deep hole that many people have had to tunnel through: the hole of lonliness.

Things are looking up this year, however. The nerd that everyone makes fun of, James, decides to reach out to Ada, and together they bond over a friendship of chess and books. But Ada has never had a proper friend before, and is unable to keep her relationship with James stable.
