"That's the thing about pain. It demands to be felt." -John Green, The Fault in our Stars.

------------

They say you either learn from your mistakes or keep repeating them.

The former is what Alexandra Flora is trying to achieve when she is given the chance at a somewhat fresh start for her senior year. After an incident during her summer holiday becomes her biggest regret, she tries to overcome the struggles of this mistake while plagued with an overwhelming abundance of grief, sorrow and guilt that eats away at her being, slowly crumbling away the essence of who she is, or more correctly was. Unable to dig herself out of the abyss of pain that she has been enduring for months due to her lacking ability to accept what has happened and ease her guilt, she finds a little help along the way from her family, friends and one other unlikely source.

Carter Romero has his own problems that eat away at him and cause him to repeat his mistakes just to find an escape from his stressful life. But when Alexandra comes crashing into his life unexpectedly at full force, along with her troubles and feisty personality, he can't help his peaked curiosity at her obvious secrets and mysterious past that seems to be haunting her. Similarly as how his past is creeping up on him.

This is a story of how everyone needs a little help every once in a while to overcome the inevitable pain of life's struggles and uncertainties.
