Blitz is left to fend for herself on the streets of Brooklyn, New York. After being locked up in the refuge for a year, she breaks out and falls in with Jack Kelly, going to the Newsies lodging house in Manhattan where she finally finds friends. Racetrack seems to consider her more than a friend, and the Delancey brothers most certainly don't consider her a friend at first, but her life seems to have changed for the better. But, when the Delancey brothers find out her secret, she knows that her newfound relationships may very well be in danger, and so is Racetrack . To say the least Spot was nervous, he wasn't nervous of Jack, but he had heard rumors that Jack's second was coming with him. Spot new for a fact that Jack's second was Racetrack Higgins, the boy that Spot lets sell on his turf, the boy that he made laugh in the court room, the boy he had fallen in love with.
