Mana deprived and starved of magic. A once grand civilization is collapsing and only two types of people now exist: those that have mana and those that crave it. 
Inaccessible founts of magic have caused the population to descend into madness. One elf, Salaris, can't bare the thought of losing his mind and decides he has to take a chance. Breaking into the city of the Higher society of elves he attempts to steal Moon Drip, a drink that would wrest him from the edge of the abyss. For at least a while...

This story is the 3rd place winner of the 2017 Melton City Short Story Competition.
