 But that reality suddenly comes crashing down when her mother unexpectedly tells her a family from their past is moving to live in the same city as them. And that's not it; The Mom of said family is getting a job at Knight's Diner. 

 Suddenly Nicki is thrust back into a life with her childhood best-friends she never expected to see again.

 She soon discovers, after secrets are revealed and a torrent of emotions are opened up, their identities aren't what she remembers.
