What if the reality that we have known isn't the real world at all? What if we just imagined it, and we actually live somewhere else completely? Somewhere that we hardly remember, but visit every night? What if our dreams were the real world, and the real world was just a dream?
Dante isn't from this world... None of us are. Life is a short escape from the excruciating world that we come from, and our dreams remind us of our home realm. Dante wasn't so lucky, he becomes one with the Dreamscape, until he cannot live on this earth any longer, only a living earthling being within our origin, our nightmares, and our afterlife. He meets the man behind it all, and slowly but surely witnesses the reality of his dreams, becoming lost in a nightmare.
