Think cheesy, cliche high school movies and sappy teen romance novels- quite unrealistic and it sets a high standard on "the high school experience" huh? I knew these things didn't actually occur in the real world but somehow, someway, the things that I, as a writer, despised about crappy teen romance, was happening in my life. Friend fall-outs because of a common love interest? Check. Love triangles? Check. Obvious foreshadowing which I, the main character, ignores? Check. And my life was like, "let's add a little splash in here and make all the female love interests named Quynh." Check. And I could have avoided all of this, if I just didn't randomly invite these group of guys to a lame party on Valentines day, for it unknowingly triggered a ripple of events in my life and unintentionally crossed off things from my bucket list.

There wasn't really anything all that special about me. I considered myself an average person with average looks. That being said, I also considered myself a very gaunt person. I was sort of a nerd. Not like a big 'ooooh, look at him, with his glasses, pocket protector and retainer', I of course had never worn any of those things. I'm a quiet type of nerd . Quiet, as in my only friends were people who weren't exactly as bad off as me, but you know, they weren't the most popular either. One girl, Jade who I considered to be an overachieving busybody. She was always trying to improve her already perfect average self while meddling in other peoples business. I also had a guy friend named Alex. He was almost like me, which made us the perfect best friend. He was also pretty popular, even though he hung out with me. Neither Jade, nor Alex were terrible to look at. In fact, sometimes I wondered why they weren't even more popular than they were. Jade is a model, tall with long black hair a perfect body and nice sized tits. Alex is perfect. Perfect six pack, perfect biceps, perfect face..... I know what you're probably thinking right now. 'Talking about your best guy friend like that? Are you gay?' You see, there are these apps where anybody can write books, stories and the sort and one day, scrolling the FB (which I don't usually do but I kill time with it on occasions) my eyes fell on a title that made me scoff. The title, 'Mafia in Love'. I remember I laughed terribly then, one of the very few times I laughed, or smiled for that matter. Some people truly feel they know anything about Mafia. Except, there might be something in the way she smiles at me that gives me hope I'm not as far out of her league as I thought. It might just be time that this chaos gets a little geek.
