The Fourth Season

What would happen if you woke up, and everyone else in the world was asleep?
The winters are not like they used to be, they're inhabitable for human beings, and the population is too low to risk losing people to the cold. For the entirety of the final season of the year, everybody is put to sleep in their homes to survive the conditions they could face in the coldest months. However, when teenage Esme Stephens suddenly wakes up during the hibernation, she begins to wonder if her waking up was really a rare mistake caused by the sleeping pods, or whether it was deliberate. As she uncovers the secrets of the society she has always known, she begins to realise that herself, and everybody else, have been bitterly lied to by the people they trust most.
