A war brews between Aeredil's tightly wound factions, as it has for decades. The Dominion refuses to concede its Monarchy for a less corrupted government, and the Kaharin Republic feels threatened by such a violent foe so close to their borders. The treaty constructed by generations past is falling apart as the smaller villages surrounding Eagle Falls are being ravaged. The Republic wants to avoid another conflict if they can, but conditions are dire and they are running out of options.

Even with war on the horizon, the Dominion struggles to rein in control of its own chaos as the very heir to the throne is tried for treason. With his male child gone, the Overlord's only option is to wed his daughter to a chosen Consort. Navigating the delicate politics of such a unity is not something Rhyn's hot headed daughter is prepared for. Armed with nothing but her pride and a sense of vengeance for her brother, the fiery princess takes matters into her own hands.

But a greater threat lurks in the shadows and bides its time while the rest of the continent bickers among themselves, oblivious to the real evil in their midst.

Can bitter enemies manage to end this pointless bloodshed once and for all? Will the people of Aeredil overlook their differences before it's too late?

Shah Jamshid al-Hassan, king of the Sazian Empire, is dead. He is succeeded by three heirs: Esfandar, the crown prince; Soraya, the forgotten daughter; and Roshani- the one who killed him. Roshani felt no remorse shoving her sword through her father's heart. Nor does she have any doubts about imprisoning her cunning grandmother in the depths of the royal prison, where she can't cause any more trouble. The tyrannical tendencies in the young empress only seem to be tempered by Kasra, her infant half-brother born shortly before the coup. To protect Kasra, Roshani is determined to kill her other siblings and end this conflict once and for all. But spies and betrayers abound in the palace, and Roshani may have more enemies within than without. Esfandar's mind has always been more attuned to war than to the politics behind it. Shocked and outraged by his sisters' betrayals, he seeks to reclaim the throne that is rightfully his. His troops rally in support of their emperor, retaking the north from Roshani's forces. Yet doubt soon creeps into the young prince's mind. As his armies forge ahead, Esfandar will discover that governing and conquering are not one and the same. The large personalities of Esfandar and Roshani have always outshone Soraya in the palace. Neither the shah nor the other palace lords ever concerned themselves with the quiet girl hiding behind her mother's skirts. But now, having escaped Roshani's coup, the empire has been forced to consider Soraya a threat. Protected by the priests and magis of the fire temple, Soraya's claim to the throne is the weakest. Her only hope is a strange power from the gods, one she's not even sure she can control. Three siblings. Three armies. One crown.

Aurora opens her eyes only to feel the agonising pain in her body. That is to be expected when there has been an accident. It's excruciatingly painful. Aurora groans in pain and pulls off the blanket, taking in her surroundings. It is more appropriate for a hospital interior design to look to the mediaeval era. Not shabby, but more on the extravagant side. The nurses' attire, on the other hand, appears odd. Someone said out of nowhere, "Her Grace, please wake up! Call the doctor right away!" Aurora approaches the mirror and looks at the woman with deep red eyes in it. The woman had blonde hair that, while a little messy, flowed perfectly over her shoulder. Her fair complexion lends her an ethereal appearance. Not to mention that her outfits make her look like a noblewoman from a historical series. She pinches herself, only to realise that the blonde woman staring at her is herself. A thought struck her mind, as she utters her first statement in this world, "Fuck me". Medea has finished her work, but she is still unsure how to fix all of the messes. She hasn't been herself in a long time, and it's bothering her. The throne seems so far away, and the weight of the burden grows heavier with each passing day. A letter from the Imperial Palace has arrived, instructing the Duchess to look after the House of Smith's Duchess of Light, Natalie Wilson Smith. As an evil scheme was about to unfold, she smiled wickedly. 'This is my new card.' p/s: I can't find the original owner of the photo of the cover, if you know or you are the owner of the cover. "You wish, Ea. I surmount you in all things," I wink, then whisper. "Bottom." Ea chuckles dryly. "We'll see, Viviendel, what you call me later." -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* In a world where immortal feuds hold more power than a ruling monarch, a Queen dies without an heir to take her throne. Only, she secretly has one, a Half-Bwardipuginin girl who is also her daughter. Viviendel is almost as hot-headed and clumsy as her mother, but much less elegant while doing both aspects. With Queens trying to destroy Vivinedel, and three men who hate her and charm her at first, but eventually fall into her charm, this book will exhilarate you, and teleport you into another dimension.
