Olibhia Seadh, a poor farm girl living in the country of Kell Trae is passionate about adventuring and documenting her finds. She constantly goes off alone, using it as an excuse to get away from her nine family members. One day, she has to journey to her country's capital, Balefall, when on her way across the frozen Balefall River, she falls through the ice. From there, she is trapped in a sort of underworld; the same world she knew but it was the home of the faeries. She must find her way home but cannot do so until the Book of Tales has been recovered. Presumed dead by all who she holds dear, Olibhia races against time and insanity to recover this precious book and get back home.
