But when Poppy's mother is murdered in cold blood due to what she is and the ever present prejudice still thriving in America, this halfling has little choice but to pack up her life to go live with her wizard father whom she's never met and attend a school full of the impossible.
Maybe it isn't so bad, she thinks right before bumping into a freakishly blonde child of the same age. 'Watch it, halfling mistake.' Perhaps she thought too soon.
