My heels clicked against the cold, hard floor of the beaten-down warehouse. Many of the florescent bulbs were out, the few that remained made the hallway seem eerie. There were no windows in this hall, every ten feet or so would be an abandoned office, but straight ahead of me were the double doors that led to the conference room that I am looking for.

My garnet red dress hugged my hips and my thighs but it didn't make me feel uncomfortable. My raven hair was pulled into a sleek ponytail on my head with only a few strands hanging loose.

It was cold in this hallway, I felt goosebumps on my arms. Every time I breathed, I could see my breath. I was an idiot for not bringing a jacket, and instead leaving it in the car.

The closer I got to the double doors, the louder the yelling became.

"I said, where is the money!" Lockheart, my boss, yelled loudly at someone.

"I don't know!" They replied.

I open the double doors and made my appearance at the meeting. Sitting in three chairs, were three men blindfolded. Sam Lockheart stood just behind them, his ginger hair disheveled and sweat dripped off his forehead in anger. Dallas Parker sat in a chair on the opposite side of the conference table.

"You look nice," Dallas commented.

"Why did I have to be called in after a date with my boyfriend?" I asked, heading straight to the point.

"I was wondering the same thing," he said in agreement.

"You have a boyfriend now?" I joked.

"Yep, and I also live on the moon with a whole bunch of fairies," he said with a cheesy grin.

"Living the life," I said, feigning jealousy.

"Stop the chit-chatting and let's get to work!" Lockheart yelled at us.

"What do you want us to do?" I asked, arms crossed and with a sigh.

"Vivian, you need to do what you do best and Parker, start with my preferred interrogation tactics if they don't do well with Vivian."
